To assist students in
developing leadership skills, to develop responsibility and
accountability among student leaders, and to inform them of
University services, policies, and procedures.

To communicate the mission
of programs, services and activities of the Office of
Student Life to the University, alumni, and the Mt. Pleasant
community.

To determine the needs of
students and encourage the development of worthwhile
programs to meet those needs.

To support programs for
educating people about the importance of diversity in the
student populations. This includes programs that celebrate
cultural, gender, and ethnic uniqueness.

To respond fairly, firmly,
and consistently to student misconduct, and to publicize
conduct expectations and disciplinary policies, procedures,
and sanctions.

To contribute to
educational and entertainment programming for a diverse
student body and University community through Program Board.

To provide administrative
support and develop University awareness of the services
provided by the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center.

To foster good will
between University students and citizens of the Mt. Pleasant
community.

To encourage involvement
between faculty and students with regard to the
co-curricular experience.

To provide professional
development opportunities for the staff.
